Hello everybody, I am seriously considering my next car to be the Opel Insignia B, Grand Sport or Grand Tourer verison. Since I am mostly driving in the city, but still need a fairly large car (we are a family of 4), I am researching the 1.5l Turbo Petrol with the automatic transmission.
The petrol cars are more affordable to buy and the fuel will cost less at the pump, but the diesels return better fuel economy, with a top official average of 62.8mpg in the Focus and 65.7mpg in the Astra. Note however that the engine line-up in the Astra changed in 2019 and older models are less efficient.

The car is extremely jerky on rough country roads or over any bumps or potholes. I felt unsafe and thought something had gone wrong with the car at one point. There was a rattling sensation in the gearstick. Also on the motorway the car was extremely slow and this was bordering on dangerous. A very chuggy drive, like driving a bus and noisy too.
